Supply chain.
As has been widely reported, almost every stage of the supply chain has been disrupted: the production of raw materials, manufacturing and fabrication, painting and the bulk shipping of freight have all been affected.
While the production and supply of bicycles and components is slowly improving, bulk shipping is becoming increasingly challenging. Increasing fuel costs, high demand for space on vessels and limited capacity are just some of issues contributing to a global shipping problem.
Delays are also happening as containers are sometimes offloaded en route and transferred to other vessels as freight forwarders and ports attempt to manage their loads more efficiently and maximise the use of their available space.
Remarkably (and not without considerable planning) we’ve been able to maintain a steady supply of frames despite the disruption in the bicycle industry. Our long-established relationship with our fabrication partner has made this possible.
We’re cautious with the arrival dates we post for pre-orders but our shipments have typically arrived within 1-4 weeks of our posted dates.
Why do we offer frames for pre-order?
Demand for Pipedream frames means they often sell out faster than expected: popular sizes and colours often sell out either before or shortly after their arrival. By offering frames for pre-order, it allows riders like yourself to secure the frame you want and avoid disappointment. It also means we can more accurately forecast our requirements and fabricate the appropriate frames based on anticipated demand, thereby minimising the lead times and the periods where products are out of stock
IMPORTANT: frames are only ever offered for pre-order once production has begun and we have an estimated arrival date.
Pre-order options.
The product pages indicate what options are immediately available i.e. in stock and what options can be pre-ordered. Pre-order options are indicated and distinguished by a suffix, for example (#1-2023, PRE-ORDER) which indicates the batch number and year of delivery.
Arrival time.
If a frame is offered for pre-order, the anticipated arrival date with be indicated on the product page above the frame options. Historically, we’ve been able to fulfil orders within 4 weeks of our posted dates.
Order process and fulfilment.
If you’ve placed an order for a frame shortly after the arrival of our bulk shipment, please note, orders are fulfilled in sequence (as much as practically possible). Priority is given to pre-ordered frames.
Orders for products that are in stock are are typically shipped within 48 hours of receipt. Orders that include components might take longer to ship but we’ll advise you ASAP.
Simply order the item(s) that you would like, and a simple 3 step process begins:
“Pending Payment”: You have products in your cart and have completed the billing and shipping forms. No payment option has been selected and no payment details have been entered.
Your cart and the information you have entered is visible to us. Typically, we follow up incomplete orders but if we don’t hear from you, we’ll delete all your information from our system.
“Processing”: We successfully received your payment and your order is in the process of being fulfilled. You’ll receive a confirmation email detailing your purchase shortly after.
“Completed”: We have created a shipping label for your product(s) and it’s scheduled for collection by the courier, typically the same day. You should receive an email confirmation from us with your tracking information shortly.
If the products you have selected are in stock, then your order is generally processed within 1-3 days. Shipping is handled by TNT (FedEx in the USA) or DHL. For speed and peace of mind we use an express service which is tracked, insured and signed-for. You can track your package and view the estimated delivery date.
If you want to make any changes to your order then contact us while it’s still “Processing”: once the order is “Completed” we cannot turn the package around.
There are occasional delays in collections from our site and some delivery delays from the UK hubs due to a countrywide shortage of HGV drivers. UK orders are usually delivered the next day but periodically, may take longer. Deliveries are not made on weekends or public holidays.
If you’re outside the UK.
