“…unlike any other bike I’ve ridden…I’ve never known a bike to climb this well, descend this well and still be this playful.” – Hardtail Party
In 2017 we introduced Drop Optimized Geometry®, set a new benchmark for “long, slack, low” hardtails and painted them a hot neon pink! And the Moxie Mx3 is still, arguably, the definitive all-mountain hardtail. You’re welcome!
We know hardtails…and we were convinced that we could build a short travel bike which would once again push the limits. However, there was so much hype and hoopla surrounding long-travel ‘hardcore’ hardtails that we weren’t sure the world was ready to hear what we had to say, that is, a short-travel “long, slack, low” hardtail could open up a whole new world or riding possibilities.
The latest suspension technology means that modern short travel suspension forks might better be described as enduro-lite. So with that in mind, the Sirius S5 was about distilling the modern hardtail riding experience into a more refined machine. Less travel, broader intentions but with the progressive geometry, handling and phenomenal performance riders had come to expect from Moxie bikes.
The Sirius S5 resonated with riders far-and-wide who understood it’s potential and it turned out the world was more than ready: we couldn’t make enough, fast enough. Whether is was a blast in the woods, trail riding, bikepacking, adventure, pushing your limits or winning enduro events, the Sirius S5 hit the spot.
It was perfect, well, almost…
The Sirius S6 takes the mind-blowing S5 to the next level.
As a designer, I always aim to create the perfect frame but ultimately, it’s not until I’ve ridden several thousand KM on it that I can really evaluate the benefits of making changes to a design…and what will be involved to make them. It’s never simple.
More mounting points have been added for uncompromising carrying abilities. This required a new down tube and, once again, the S6 has maintained the clean lines that Pipedream frames are renowned for: we don’t compromise our frames by using gussets! This no-compromise approach allows us to specify multiple bosses, in key positions, on the top and bottom of the tube.
Useful things to know.
The S6 has plenty of bosses in convenient locations allowing it to carry cages for bottles or your kit. There’s a pair of bosses on the top tube; a trio and a pair within the front triangle; a trio of bosses on the underside of the down tube give a choice of two positions for a bottle cage or the option to fit a cargo cage.

Geometry Schematic
*The frame is optimised to work with a typical 100-120mm 29er fork and geometry numbers as listed are with a 100mm fork (sagged). Stack with a typical 120mm fork (static, no sag) is 605mm i.e. +19mm.

DOGLong, Longer and now Longish…..what does that even mean?
When we launched the Moxie, it was only available in 2 sizes as we were confident that our Drop Optimized Geometry® could fit most riders between 5’5”/1.65m and 6’4”/1.93m. QED.
However, with only 2 sizes the normal monikers of small (S), medium (M), large (L) and extra-large (XL) didn’t seem appropriate so we chose Long and Longer instead. S/M and L/XL might have been more recognisable but really, they’re not that much more informative without ‘numbers’: one brands’ medium might be another brands’ large and herein lies the problem with labelling. With the addition of smaller sizes to our line-up, Longish was the natural choice. Confused?
This is one of the reasons why geometry tables are provided. But, how do you use this data?
If you compare our geometry to the data for your current bike (or some other reference frame), this should give you some indication of fit.
Designed for dropper posts.
Our Drop Optimized Geometry® can accommodate most riders between 4’11”/1.50m and 6’4”/1.93m with the selection of the appropriate length dropper post.
Current dropper posts offer around 100-215mm of adjustment allowing a wide range of riders to fit a frame with a 16.5″/420mm seat tube. Maximum usable length of seat tube is 260mm.
The table below illustrates recommended frame size for rider height.
